There was a time when I was so annoyed with their tvc always airing their testimony about the product and I was like, oh cmon, it's too good to be true since Marian Rivera started it all. But then in search for the perfect remedy on my acne-prone face (after using facial mask, I got this tremendous acne and pimple dark spots on my face), I started reading about the bloggers testimony as well.

There was one user which made me laugh so hard (sorry but I really can't think that it will happen on her upon using it, she got tons of big zits!) and was actually the reason why I even try it for myself. Of course I know for a fact that every product does not guarantee same result on every user. You should really try it for yourself. Although I must admit I am still in doubt of using Maxipeel products because of the "burning" issues on their faces.

One thing I like about Maxipeel is that it is readily available locally and in leading supermarkets, even on drugstores. Plus, it is way cheaper and a complete set of regimen compare to other beauty essentials.

For my first week, I use this routine:
Morning: Facial Scrub, Toner, Sunblock
After Bath: Toner, Sunblock
Evening: Facial Wash, Toner, Exfoliant Cream, Moisturizer

That was what I do, but if you're going to ask the Maxipeel Facebook Page, they will advise you to use the exfoliant cream in the morning. But since I am just staying at home, I opt for exfoliating at night. They also advise me to stop using the facial scrub too since it's too harsh on my face, instead, use the facial wash twice or even thrice a day. After using the Moisturizer for 3 days, I stop using it because it makes my skin looks oily and I don't want to be burden by pimples again. It is indeed normal if you have pimple breakout at 1st to 2nd week of using their products. It is a sign that the skin is exfoliating and removing the dead skin cells, purging out every excess dirt on your face. What I notice is that after a week of using it, it lightens my face. I also got super small pimple, one or two and not having large ones.

I was giddy excited on what will happen when my period comes. Normally, I have two large zits waiting to pop on my chine whenever my period is approaching. To my dismay, it happen but it didn't last long. Usually, large zits on my chin will lasts up to 6 days but now, it only lasted for three days. I also use the Pimple Eraser to lessen the dark spots. Every week, I take pictures on my progress and to see if it's really working on me. Reality hits me that it is really helpful and amazing!

These are my Maxipeel Journey photos to prove the effects of the product on my face. I was advice to used their products for a two months period to see the results and since I am using the Exfoliating cream I don't need the resting period (if you're using the exfoliant solution, you need to stop after two months and have 1 month resting period before using it again) and just continue the routine until I am satisfied with the result.

After trying out different facial wash and toner, finally, the long search is over. Have you spotted the difference it makes on my face after using Maxipeel products?

On my journey to #BagongGandaBagongPagasa, I am now confident to take selfies without filter, and sometimes, no makeup at all. I just use their sunblock when I am at home or the QuickFX products when I have to go somewhere. What a relief! No more acne problems! :)

Disclaimer: This is not a sponsored post. I buy my own products and tested them on my own in order to gather this information. What works for me may or may not work for you. Pictures posted are mine unless otherwise stated.

I've been visiting Watsons every week looking out for products to use on my face and then weighing out if it's worth trying or not. At first, I was hesitant to try the QuickFX products because it is cheaper and only have sachets. But it is great though if you want to try it at first without costing too much on your beauty budget. Still, I need to see reviews first. Searching on youtube, I stumble upon vlogs of Anne Klutz which is useful enough since she's using the products live! She has a review of QuickFX No Shine Mattifier.

QuickFX Haul at Watsons

On my next visit, I grab these three products of QuickFX: No Shine Mattifier, Pimple Erase and the latest one, CC Cream (yay! I don't have to buy the Shawill CC Cream!)

QuickFX No Shine Mattifier
  • Dewy like gel that smoothens my face leaving a powder like finish
  • Easy to blend and easily dry up
  • Lasts up to 5 hours
  • Soft and supple face upon application
  • Affordable and available on Watsons (easily sold out since it's really perfect primer on the go!)

Upon watching Ann Klutz video, she said that it works as a primer which is only new to me. I don't usually use primer when applying make up on my face and maybe that is one of the reasons I ended up retouching from time to time.

with QuickFX No Shine Mattifier

QuickFX No Shine Mattifier with Maybelline All in One Clear Smooth in Natural shade powder
So this No Shine Mattifier is a great primer and I achieved my No Make Up Make Up look everyday!

QuickFX CC Cream
  • Grayish white in appearance
  • Has yellowish pigments when blended
  • Separating little oil substance
  • Smells goods

I learned that having a primer first has really it's pros and cons before applying cream or make up on your face. Here's my comparison.

Using QuickFX CC Cream without No Shine Mattifier
  • Does not dry up easily and a little bit sticky
  • Blends well on skintone but not leaving a smooth finish
  • Does not work well with pressed powder
  • Photo-ready but oily

with QuickFX No Shine Mattifier + CC Cream

Using QuickFX CC Cream with No Shine Mattifier First
  • Adds smooth finish and doesn't crack up
  • Dries up easily, blends well and not oily
  • It doesn't crack up or messed up even if I applied powder or even sunblock afterwards
  • Super smooth and supple face upon application
  • Super Photo ready leaving your face with a No Make Up Make Up look
  • Great for everyday use
  • After 5 hours of exposing to sunlight or daylight, I have to apply pressed powder for retouching of re-apply sunblock if the sun's still up

QuickFX Pimple Eraser
Although I am on my Maxipeel Journey, there are dark spots from time to time and a little pimple breaking out so I decided to use the Pimple Eraser to see if I can rely on it for emergency purposes or can help me out on eliminating the dark spots on my face.

  • It has no smell and white in color
  • Has a little stinging sensation and cool effect
  • It dries up easily and easy to blend on affected areas
  • Use it twice a day for effectiveness

Here's my before and after photos of using the Pimple Eraser after having 2 big zits before my menstruation period. I actually pop it out (yes, I can't resist of popping them from time to time) that's why you can see that it has appeared reddish on the next picture. But what I really notice is it helps me
to eliminate the dark spots on my chin.
Can you see the difference?

I hope that you guys are satisfied with my review. I am definitely keeping this stash on my beauty kit and recommend it to my friends! There are still other products of QuickFX (Tinted Moisturizer and EyeLift Cream) that I would like to try but I am sticking to this first haul first or who knows, maybe on my next visit or after Anne Klutz review of those products.
I learned about this book from @iamhearte's Instagram account. I was thrilled by her post because she got tears after reading it. If I am not mistaken, the only book that brought me to tears while reading at 2:30 AM is entitled "A Walk To Remember" which I know for a fact that it is a chic book, all the girls love it! That is why I end up downloading for an ebook of Me Before You written by Jojo Moyes.

At first I thought that I was lost already with the story. Lost in the sense that I have to read the epilogue once again because I don't know if I skip a line or two. It just happens so fast that Will (I actually thought it wasn't a name too! Silly me!) was in an accident. Why do we always have a soft heart to a sick person instantly?

And then there's Lou, short for Louise. The girl who doesn't have any idea of what life is all about. A boring one for Will. They both contradict each other because Will is an adventurer while Lou doesn’t mind if she ends up just a book in a book shelf. But things aren't the same with Will anymore. His life was taken aback after the accident. And he was just waiting for the right time to come. And then they met. Lou was hired as Will's caretaker. She wasn't really part of the plan but one time she heard Will's family conversing about the 6 month waiting period before Will finally go to Dignitas. He's about to end up his life by suicidal attempt. Will's mom still hopes that Will might change his decision and Lou might be the best fitted for that. In an attempt to bring back Will into life, Lou plans activities for a quadriplegic patient. They become close that Lou started to have feelings for Will but Will doesn't want to. He is still firm with his decision. The last activity Lou planned for Will in order to make him change his mind makes her feel mad and hate Will at all. But in the end, she finally realize what is right for both of them.

Again I don't want to spoil and spill every bit of the story. You should find out yourself. But if you are asking me if it brought me to tears, indeed YES. And after reading that chapter, I instantly feel sorry and send a message to my husband right away. I was moved. I was speechless and cried for five minutes before continuing the story again.

Have you read this book already? Let's share some sentiment. If you haven't read this and want a copy, just send me a message and I'll send you a copy in mobi format.
The first time I heard about this café was when someone mention it on Facebook. I notice that apart from the burger joints emerging at the city of Batangas, along came different coffee shops. This is just one of the café I've visited so far. It is located adjacent to KFC and just renting a small space. The place is a bit homey but I must warn you that it's too small for the daily walk-in customers. Sometimes you have to wait for a vacant seat.

I've been visiting the place for 3 times already, one time I am alone, the 2nd time I was with my kumare, the third time with my husband's cousin. I was a bit disappointed with their frappe. I ordered my usual Cookies n Cream flavor (a must whenever I visit café or ordering an ice cream) but when I got to taste it it's a little blunt. Not too sweet for a sweet tooth like me. I guess they just put little sugar in it and I have tasted too much whip cream instead.

For the 2nd and third try, nothing is changed. I might try different flavor instead next time. I also ordered my favorite Carbonara. It tastes good for me! Since I don't want a creamy carbonara and always opt for the salty one. Good job in there.

Carbonara and Cookies n Cream frappe

Last Tuesday I was able to drop by again and luckily I've got a free seat already so I ordered Benedict Adobo Flakes and Honey Lemonade for a change. Someone's right for mentioning that it's too salty! Well, I think I just need another slice of bread to balance it off. And I am lucky enough that I got the perfect drink for it, the Honey Lemonade which is just right for it's juicy lemon flavor.

I haven't tried all of their food in the menu and I am actually looking forward to visit their café again sometime soon. Price is not pricey at all compared to other coffee shops. It is easier to drop by at the café since it's in the city already.

What's your café experience so far?
I was looking for a perfect but inexpensive gift last year for my dear friend who also happen to be my kumare. She has a boutique and I want something useful for her aside from her wide Hello Kitty Collection. Some were wondering where I bought my clothes and I just have to admit that a lot of my clothes were shopped online at Heartplum Fab Finds. They got fab and chic clothing and caters most of girly girl outfits which are fashionable but affordable.

So in search for something, I came across an online store which personalized cards. I was thinking that I may grab a set of notepads and calling cards for my friend. I immediately asked for it's price and for a less than Php500 I already got a personalized gift set of notepads and calling cards. That was WOW!

first set purchased given as a gift to dear friend

Upon sending that as a surprise gift, my friend is happy to have them and posted it on her timeline. I was much giddy excited because I actually send them directly to her. I asked her how was the quality of it. She told me that it's beautiful and nice paper material and might consider ordering if she will be asked.

Now that Christmas season is near I thought that I might try their gift set and repurchase calling cards again as a gift to my friend since I knew that she might already used all of the cards I've sent her before. So I send them a message again and give my desired design. A week of processing and my orders are done. I meet them this time at SM Batangas and they handed me my order. I checked them out as excited like a kid, and I am happy that the gift cards are very nice! Not glossy one but it looks really nice for me.

My own sets of gift cards!

It's really nice to have personalized cards since I always wanted to include names of my husband and our daughter in it. I don't have to put our names as always and just put the name of the recipient plus the greeting in it. I can also choose my own design.

a closer look

Yay! I already used up some of my gift cards since we attended different parties this past few days. I'll be sending my other gift as well.

In search of a mini speaker compatible with my Sony Walkman, I finally visit CDR King store once again since last time they told me that they have no stock. There's only one available though but this time I am glad that after all the search I've done, I got to say I've got one good haul for this month. My Sony Walkman is compatible with component systems and in our TV but I want a mini speaker so I can just turn it on whenever I want to.

CDR King Veltra USB/SD Mini Speaker System

Features:
  • Has USB/Micro SD Slot
  • Auxiliary for cellphones
  • Extra battery compartment BLC-5 (just like the cellphone's battery)
  • Rechargeable built in battery (2 hours charging time, 1 1/2 playback but longer when it's on FM)
  • Affordable (Php 680.00)
  • FM Stations availability
  • Has remote control for functions aside from the buttons
  • ON/OFF button, MODE button for USB/FM

Open latch is where you put the extra battery if you are not satisfied with the built in battery

Buttons (R) for remote sensor, MODE for switching between FM and USB/SD, Volume Minus or the backward, Pause Play, Volume Add or the forward

I like the fact that I can switch to FM stations if I wanted to stop listening to my walkman playlists. Also, the rechargeable feature is one good thing since I can charge it for two hours and it will keep on playing without cables. I an carry it anywhere because it is compact and has handle. Good for trips too!

See the lights? You can see it if the place is dark but in sunshine light you won't even notice that it's working

I charge it for two hours and tried it for the first time using my Walkman Player as music source and it plays for 1 1/2 hours. It stop by that time but when I switch to FM Station it plays for another half hour before it goes off. Then the other day I switch it on again and played for another 30 minutes round on FM. I find it electric saving speaker since I don't have to plug it on socket whenever I want to listen to music. Aside from that it only consumes 3W of electricity.
Yesterday we celebrated our daughter Adrienne Isobelle's 2nd Birthday. I don't usually celebrate birthdays at home but since there's a typhoon, I opt to just stay indoors and make a simply celebration. It started when I ordered a small fondant cake and then my mom insisted to cook pansit. I added carbonara and tried to make some cupcakes again. I will just share the highlights of the celebration here as I was giddy excited to make some effort and pretty much overwhelm with the guests.

I've edited out pictures because I wanted it to look like a photobook when I print it out. Yesterday's celebration was much simpler compare to last year. But I am too happy yesterday because even if I just invited over kids, they seem to be happy too. My baby also got gifts and birthday cards from them. They also sang and dance as part of the small program. Of course I granted them ice cream too! I can't explain the happiness I saw with the kids with this simple celebration we had.

Gifts and Birthday Cards from BFFs
I just ordered a small cake with a bumble bee theme so it will be yellow (her daddy's favorite color!) for Php200.00 pesos only. It might be small but it's just perfect because of the details.

At the end of the party I asked the guest to take pictures with my DIY Photobooth (sorry there are no print outs available haha but I promise to tag them on their facebook account) I made at the corner. Here's a sample shot! Now I don't have to pay for a 2-3 hrs photobooth worth 5k.

After the celebration, I decided to visit the church with my daughter. Have some prayers and intentions for the day and bless her with holy water. As we headed back home we saw Jollibee waving at the jeepneys passing along the Jollibee food chain! So I grab the opportunity to have some picture taken! This is so much for today, we got FREE Mascot along the way!

YAY for Free Jollibee Mascot
Isn't is sweet to have a simple birthday celebration without costing too (Php 2,000 worth of fun and memories) much but the memories will still remain. I just wanted to say thank you for my mom first for helping me out on this event. For the friends and kids who joined our party, for the gifts my daughter received and for the calm weather despite the typhoon. Till our next birthday party my dear!
Long before I first try to use Pond's facial wash, I always got a pimple or two that's why I stop using it and just switch to other products. But my husband always use it whenever he is here in the Philippines. He actually uses the facial wash for girls! He doesn't have acne even if he uses it everyday. I've also try out Pond's Cream before but still it wasn't for me. Sigh. But after attending an SM Event months ago (sorry as I forgot to post it here before) which is part of the Viber promo, I got a chance to grab a pack full of beauty essentials and 2 packs of chips.

I was eager to watch the movie when I heard about the good reviews from my facebook friend. I also wanted to see a film with a different genre which is about our history. I decided to watch the film all by myself but then my kumare insisted that I should postponed my selfless date and watch it on other day instead. Luckily, I saw a movie treat from SM City Manila and I immediately grab the opportunity. By the way, every year, SM gives complimentary tickets and I must say that every year I grab one (lucky ME!).

It was last year when the Choco Balls hit the market and every one is drooling with it's unique recipe. I have my own version of it too. Aside from that, we also manage to sell a lot of Choco Balls tub delivering to market, schools and friends. Every one is asking and raving on how to make it. Actually there are different versions of making it.
If you are an ABS-CBN subscriber and watching on their channel then you must probably know their latest Starflix presents exclusively for ABS-CBN mobile sim users. You can watch it via iWantv app or through iWantv website. You just have to sign up and must have a mobile sim which has atleast 10php load to be able to watch the 4 episodes.
I am the type of mom who always post pictures on my social media accounts. Some may say it obsession but others don't really mind. Sometimes, I asked myself if I really have to do this from time to time and limit myself to posting but I really can't deny the fact that it's way too addicting.

In a relationship it is important that the couples know each other's interest so that they can devote time on each other's recreation and increase their affection to each other. Or one of them will join each other's company to gain affection toward the other. It is indeed really helpful if we get to know our partner every now and then. But some couples failed in this manner. Why? Because what they had before is no longer existing in their current situation.
I've been on the look for trying out whitening products right after I gave birth since I am really dying to have a fairer whiter skin without costing me that much. Aside from that, I don't want the injections even the derma sessions. I know that using soaps, moisturizers, cream etc will took me a lot of effort and time to achieve what I want but I want it that way. After I have been exposed to dirt during my training (commuting and using makeup) my pimples are also appearing one by one and to my dismay, I got this red pimple marks.
If I have any complaint with the Sony charger, it is their not too long cable which hinders me from charging whenever I am resting at my bed. So I used my kindle charger instead. Apparently, the cable is broken and I have to find another spare one for my phone. I look for a long one and search through local market but I can't seem to find a 3 meter data cable. Luckily, I found one at Trend Setter facebook store.
I've been really craving for Tacos and I haven't had one for months. I tried to make my own recipe but I failed and I didn't satisfied my hunger for taco. In search for taco around the corner, I stumble upon Patty Batangas which serves tacos and burgers. Accessible because I only need to ride a jeepney if I wanted to dine in that place. Since I don't have much thing to do aside from my bank errands today, I asked my niece in law to accompany me and be my taste buddy for a day! Luckily she's free enough to join me and we just treat this day as her pre-birthday celebration.

Currently, I am reading a book entitled "His Needs, Her Needs: Building an Affair Proof Marriage"  which I first learned from Maricar and Richard Poon's blog. Every chapter is informative. This thing caught my attention though and I have quoted some lines for you to ponder.
When it comes to sex and affection, you can't have one without the other. Sadly enough, most affairs start because of a lack of affection (for the wife) and lack of sex (for the husband). It's quite a vicious cycle. She doesn't get enough affection, so she shuts him off sexually. He doesn't get enough sex, so the last thing he feels like being is affectionate.

We all know that saving enough money is really hard. Nowadays the one thousand peso bill can only give you a pack of diaper and a carton of milk supplement for your baby. That is hardly enough for a week budget. But have you ever wonder if you really are a practical one, even if you are in a midst of hardship dealing with your monthly allowance you can still save up for your future?
My first barbie was given by my dad and I can't remember where it is right now. But I know that the last glimpse of it was a barbie with a cut nose. I cut her nose or the mouse did, forgive me as I don't really remember that exact tragedy my barbie had. Who wouldn't remember Barbie as the iconic doll who won the hearts of many girls and having one makes you feel like a rich kid. Now I am going to share you one of my friend who happen to be a barbie collector and now starting her barbie dress making line. I was really amazed with her patience making dresses for her barbies despite the work schedule she have.
License to Date is the 6th book from the "Better Date Than Never" series written by Susan Hatler. If you have been wandering through my blog before, you might notice that I already written reviews of her books and today I decided to make a review again. I've been reading her series since then and I like the fact that I can finish her book in one sitting. Sorry if it really took so long to make a review of the book.
I've been wanting to visit this place with my husband last year as our anniversary itinerary but at some instances we decided to just go back at Caleruega. But then my wish was granted when my inlaws took a trip with me at this place and have a sight at the wonderful garden situated at Batangas. I learned about this place from a facebook friend and from then on I told myself that one day I'll be setting my footsteps and reflect with God's grace.
If you are a true blooded Pinoy, and you heard about IKAHON it would simply say "put it in box". But today, I will tell you that "IKAHON" is more of something I am happy to talk about since it was pre-launched last June 12, 2015 to bring a taste of home through beloved Pinoy snacks to overseas Filipinos all over the world. It all started with my cousin's dream and finally putting it a bright perspective and reality. They are starting with US but will eventually offer international shipping.

Our mission is to raise awareness and appreciation to the Filipino culture. It is also our aim to provide educational scholarships to deserving students through the Gawad Kalinga S.E.E.D. program.
- IKAHON
Meet my cousin Maycee Lamb and her venture on this one-of-a-kind business which caters the Filipino to still have a taste of home while struggling overseas.

I know firsthand how it's like to feel "homesick" and crave for Pinoy snacks. I don't have them readily accessible where I live. So I figured that my pain point is something that my fellow kababayans are experiencing too. I founded ikahon so that someday all overseas Filipinos will have access to their favorite Pinoy snacks.
- Maycee Lamb
Now the exciting part is they pre-launched it with a gift not just to their potential subscribers but also for people who love Pinoy Snacks. I already count myself in, so what are you waiting for? Just click on the button below to join! Share the good news and goodluck to us!
